I began my career at the Meridian School District under Barbara Horn. An amazing opportunity for me, the Music Curriculum was non-existent during this time. This provided me the opportunity to collaborate with the elementary school teachers and write a curriculum that enhanced the classroom education and the annual school goals.
I conducted In-Service presentations to other music instructors in the district around the topic of music curriculum.
I transitioned to Crossroad Alternative Middle School in 2004, teaching Math, English and Life Skills. During my time at Crossroads, I also served as an Administrative Intern. I developed programs like the Annual Yearning for Learning - designed to engage parents in their students Math and Reading objectives. I coached the annual Future City competition, hosted a Loose Screws Math program, was awarded numerous grants including the State of Idaho Governor's Grant for Education and achieved some of the highest growth goals in the state in 7th and 8th grade Mathematics.
